Dr. Huyssoon
Owner, General Dentist
Dr. Debi M. Huyssoon (pronounced Hi-soon) is a general dentist that truly values the patient-doctor relationship. She attended the University of San Diego where she earned her B.A. in Chemistry. While at the University of San Diego, she served in the US Army Reserves and then the California National Guard. Dr. Huyssoon also attended Portland State University, earning a B.S. in Biology. After finishing her undergraduate degrees she received her dental degree (D.M.D.) from OHSU’s School of Dentistry in 2005. She is a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, and the Alpha Omega Study Club, a branch of the Seattle Study Club.
She began her career in Hillsboro and Salem as an associate dentist but always knew that she wanted to start her own practice. In 2007, she purchased a small dental practice in the heart of Old Town Sherwood. Then in 2012, she acquired the associateship practice in Salem where she had worked for 6 years.
Dr. Huyssoon is extremely caring, knowledgeable, and great at individualizing treatment for the patient’s specific dental needs. She has first-hand knowledge of patients’ dental fears and concerns, as she spent many hours on the other side of the dental chair after suffering a traumatic injury to her face in 1996.
Outside of work Dr. Huyssoon’s favorite activities include traveling, gardening, cooking, target shooting, working out, and spending time with her teenage children and husband, Scott, the dental offices’ general manager.
Dr. Maikhanh Tran
Associate General Dentist
Dr. Tran was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, making her an Oregon native. She received her Bachelor of Science at Portland State University and earned her DMD at OHSU School of Dentistry. She was one of two recipients in her graduating class to receive the Academy of General Dentistry Award which embodies a provider who exemplifies excellence in communication, empathy and skill in the treatment of their patients. Dr. Tran was afraid of going to the dentist when she was young, and this has contributed to her compassionate and calming nature towards her patients. Dr. Tran understands that dental treatments can cause stress and anxiety so she strives to create a comfortable and educational experience as much as possible. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family, traveling, reading binge-watching TV shows and rooting for the Trailblazers.
Karen
Billing/Insurance Manager
Karen began her career at Sherwood Old Town Dental in 2009. Her smiling face is usually the first thing you will see when you walk into our inviting office. She is extremely knowledgable and can answer any questions you may have about insurance, payment plans, treatment needs, and scheduling. She has worked in the dental field for 20+ years and began her career as a dental assistant, but soon realized that working in the front office is where she can really use the skills she enjoyed most. Her fun-loving and authentic personality make our patients feel extremely welcomed. We love having her as a part of our team. Karen loves to camp, scrapbook, and spend time with her two sons, great husband, and family.
Marta
Office/Patient Care Coordinator
Marta began her career at Sherwood Old Town Dental in 2010 and is usually the friendly voice you will hear when you call our office. Marta works diligently to get our patients the appointment times they most desire, as well as following up with phone calls, texts, letters, and postcards, she makes sure our new patients get a thank you card. Marta strives to make everyone feel welcomed and “part of the practice family” with her warm and outgoing personality. She is continually on the ball and willing to go the extra mile. We are proud to have her as our Office/Patient Care Coordinator. Some of Marta’s favorite things to do include spending time with her two amazing grownup kids, two loveable dogs, and her amazingly supportive husband. She also enjoys traveling, glamping in their travel trailer, reading when she can find the time, and making tie blankets.
Kelsey
Registered Dental Hygienist
Kelsey has been part of the Sherwood Old Town Dental team since March 2021 and has over 8 years of experience as a Hygienist. Kelsey was raised in Tualatin area and has lived in Sherwood for over 12 years now. She is married to an amazing guy and has 2 adorable kiddos and an older Golden Retriever. She loves to do fun activities with her bustling kids like going to the zoo, parks, exploring new areas, swimming, and teaching them to ride bikes and scooters (that's usually what they're doing on her days off). In her spare time, Kelsey likes to do all kinds of crafts, usually using her Cricut machine, rearranging home decor especially for the Fall season and decorating for Christmas, and she loves spending time with family and friends.
Kelsey always has a smile on her face and in her voice, she has a very sweet demeanor and a nourishing, motherly approach to all her patients.She is very informative and provides useful tips to encourage all who see her to maintain good oral health. Kelsey is thorough and impressive at what she does and has been a bright addition to our Practice
Tiffany
Dental Assistant
Tiffany has been in the dental field for over 20 yrs, her experience is evident in everything she does. She started working here filling in throughout the summer of 2021 and we quickly realized that we needed to make her permanent part of our team. Tiffany really enjoys being a dental assistant, she feels privileged to get to know our patients as she cares for them with compassion and her gentleness. Aside from being a wonderful dental assistant she has an amazingly nurturing demeanor, and she is the one that keeps the office organized and efficient.
Tiffany loves spending time with her two adult children, her family and friends. She also has a passion for gardening flowers while her daughter enjoys gardening vegetables. She also spends time working on interior design projects.

Erin
Dental Assistant
Some of you may remember Erin from when she first started in 2007, she was one of the original staff that worked with Dr. Huyssoon. Erin was the Lead Assistant at Sherwood Old Town Dental and trained several of our dental assistant interns, who later became employees as well. She decided to take a little break as she focused on creating her adorable family alongside her supportive husband. Erin is back with us as of Fall 2021, and we couldn’t be happier to have her here. Erin’s outgoing & fun spirit keeps the staff and patients smiling all day long.
Erin enjoys cooking, hiking with her husband and kiddos and sometimes even their little dog joins them as well. She loves hanging out and playing games with her friends and family.
